Wednesday, July 8th, 2026

10:00am – 12:00pm

Forests across our region are facing increasing pressure from non-native insects and emerging diseases. Join Rachel Kappler, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Holden Arboretum, for a closer look at the pests and pathogens impacting trees such as hemlock, ash, and beech today—with a brief look to the past through the story of American chestnut. Learn key signs to watch for, how to evaluate what you’re seeing, and when to take action and seek support.

Location: Working Woods Learning Forest at Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, Ohio (9805 Sperry Rd. Kirtland OH 44094)
