Terrain Notes
Our natural areas hikes take place in areas with moderate to difficult terrain. Close-toed, sturdy hiking shoes are required for all of our hikes. Please note the terrain information below for your hike location to help make the best decision for your health and safety.

  • Stebbins Gulch:  2.0 miles, rugged, steep hills/descents, very slippery rocks, must be able to climb over or under fallen logs and navigate some areas of standing water above the ankles. Weather will affect trail conditions.
  • Little Mountain: 2.0 miles, moderate difficulty. Areas of the trail will be muddy and uneven. Periods of wet weather will increase the muddy conditions. At times, you will pass over, under, or between rocky outcrops.
  • Carver's Pond: 4.0 miles, unmanaged trails, steep hills, narrow and uneven. Expect muddy conditions and navigating around fallen trees. Bug spray or permethrin-treated clothing recommended. Be prepared to check for ticks.
  • Pierson Creek: Up to 4.5 miles with steep hills and stairs up and down. Expect uneven and natural terrain, creek crossings, and a brisk pace.

If you are shown a ticket limit, that means there are less tickets available than you would like to purchase. Please choose a different date or sign up for the waitlist here.
