Plant Physiology Research at HF&G: Rhododendrons, red cedars, and urban trees, OH MY!

Speakers: Juliana Medeiros, Randy Long and Sharon Danielson

Affiliation: Holden Forests & Gardens

HF&G scientists share their research investigating how climate impacts the physiology of different plant species, and how this ultimately determines where these species are found in nature. This talk will delve into three current studies on plants and climate, including:

1) the role of climate in the evolution of Rhododendron biodiversity,

2) how physiological stress tolerance could promote the invasion of red cedar into grasslands, and

3) how stressful urban climates impact the health of park trees and shape the community composition of urban forest remnants.
